U.S. health centers provide care to more than 30 million people and save the health care industry more than $24 billion in reduced emergency department, hospital, and specialty care costs.

Progressive Community Health Centers is one of five Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) serving the greater Milwaukee area. Also known as a Community Health Center, FQHCs are public, non-profit 501c3 entities that deliver primary medical, dental, and mental health services.

Health Centers provide access to basic health services in communities that need them most: poor, migrant workers, mothers, and children.

Advocacy is important to continue the funding, through the government, and public support for community health centers like Progressive.

Progressive has an internal Advocacy Committee, led by the Board of Directors, that strategizes the organization’s advocacy priorities and calendar: building awareness about the importance of health centers by engaging with the public and elected officials, encouraging patient civic participation, and more.
