Molina Sponsors Reading Program

Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin has donated a micro grant of more than $2,000 to support the Reach Out and Read program at Progressive Community Health Centers. Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based program that supports early childhood literacy and development.

Using Reach Out and Read as a platform, clinicians “prescribe books” and encourage families to read together. The program begins at the six-month checkup and continues through age five, with a special emphasis on children growing up in poverty.

Molina’s financial support of the program will enable Progressive CHC to supply more than 800 new books to children annually through its Reach Out and Read program. Molina employees also held a used book drive through the company’s Employee Activity Committee and collected more than 300 books to fill Progressive CHC’s waiting room shelves. Thank you, Molina!
